As is so often the way in the County League, both sides were short not only their County Senior reps but several other probable starters. Because of such, today's match-play probably didn't reflect either sides true ability, though it was nonetheless a useful work-out for all of those involved.
Today's team (and scorers from the top of my head, which I'm very much open to correction on!) lined out as follows:
1. Paddy Looby
2. William Ryan 3. Johnny Mulqueen 4. Declan O'Donoghue
5. Conor Quigley (0-1) 6. Noel Gleeson 7. John O'Dwyer
8. Tossy Hogan 9. Stephen Murray (0-8; 0-3 from play, 0-1 from a sideline)
10. Timmy Hogan 11. Damien O'Brien (0-2) 12. John O'Brien (0-2)
13. Eoin Hogan (0-3) 14. Tony Scroope (C) 15. Colm O'Brien
Subs Used: Tadhg O'Halloran, Danny Ryan, Paddy Hogan and Peter Gill.

We could have snuck this one if a couple of serious goal chances had gone in. But it has to be said SARS got the their scores easier than we did. Our backs hurled very well. Not a bad first game against top opposition.
