Ger Gavin North Minor B Hurling Championship; Group 2 Game 3: Thursday, 14th July, 2011 BURGESS V BORRIS-ILEIGH Time: 8:00 PM Venue: Dolla Referee: TBC (Source: Tipperary GAA website) According to the Guardian, this match is fixed for 7:30 this evening in Nenagh. I'm presuming the Guardian fixture is the correct one, as there is another minor match arranged for Dolla this evening but if someone in the know could confirm such, I'm sure the forum's readers would greatly appreciate it.

Using the GAA Scoreboard Android App, I'll try to post each score upon the following twitter page: twitter.com/#!/CLG_Buirgheas . Hopefully Donal Ryan's Wi-Fi connection extends as far as the bus-shelter otherwise known as Templederry's stand now! Post-game, I'll list the team, scorers etc. Anyway, the very best of luck to all involved!

Unfortunately the Wi-Fi network in Templederry (aptly named "Hill"!) did not allow for the tweeting of updates in what was a very entertaining match, which finished 1-16 apiece. For much of the game, we looked the more complete side, only to be reined in at the very end. The upcoming replay should hold no fear though, as I'm sure our very committed bunch of players will have learned some valuable lessons today, which will serve them very well going forward. Today's team lined out as follows: 1. Jamie Maxwell 2. Willie Ryan 3. Tony Hogan 4. Robbie Mulqueen 5. Jack O'Flaherty 6. John O'Dwyer (0-4 from frees/65's) 7. Bill O'Flaherty 8. I heard it was a draw game. 1:16 a piece. We were robbed I heard. For the second consecutive game against Drom-Inch, a highly controversial umpiring decision played its part in denying us victory. A die-hard Drom-Inch supporter, who was in line with the shot in question, told me after the match it was "at least two yards" wide. Hopefully it'll be a case of 3rd time lucky in the replay!

It seems there is some eye test you need to fail to be an umpire nowadays. Any word on the replay date and venue yet?

Commiserations to the Minor squad and their backroom team, who despite a brave second half showing, ultimately failed to claw back the mammoth lead that Drom-Inch had forged by the game's interval. While last Saturday's defeat was a disappointing one, it should not be forgotten just how much this panel of players have improved these past couple of years. Indeed, if they continue their upward trend, which I've no doubt they will, they'll be a very competitive "A" side in 3 years' time.
Last Saturday's team lined out as follows:
1. Jamie Maxwell
2. Willie Ryan 3. Tony Hogan 4. Robbie Mulqueen
5. Jack O'Flaherty 6. John O'Dwyer (1-1 from frees) 7. Bill O'Flaherty
8. Kevin Seymour 9. Vincent Kearns
10. Tadhg O'Halloran (0-1) 11. Kevin O'Flaherty (0-1) 12. Adam Coady
13. Danny Ryan (0-4 from frees/65's) 14. Cian Comerford 15. Andy Dunne
Subs Used: Tommy Coughlan, Paudie Gill, Alan Coady and Shane McCarthy.
